Friday offers two open times, 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. and teen skate is 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday skate time is 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Bring your own skates or rent them.     The Carroll Gallery, located in the Carriage House at The Emlen Physick Estate on Washington Street, is featuring the "Moore History: The Life and Works of William J. Moore" January 14 to April 9th on Saturdays from 12:00-3:00 pm. The exhibit features original documents, objects and photographs of Mr. Moore's long and honored life.

    Born in West Chester, PA, he was the first African American to graduate from high school. He went on to Howard University graduating in 1892. He became the principal of the black school in West Cape May (Annex School) and instilled in his pupils a sense of pride in black heritage and to further their education in higher learning. He became the tennis pro, now called The William J. Moore Tennis Club next to the Physick Estate which was named in his honor at the young age of 100. He was truly a remarkable man and a pioneer in his community of West Cape May.

    Cape May Stage presents "One Christmas Carol" on December 17-18 at The Robert Shackleton Playhouse, 405 Lafayette Street with showtime at 3:00 pm. "One Christmas Carol", by Douglas Baker, is based on Dicken's famous, legendary story. It's a one man show about selfishness and selflessness.

    Congress Hall presents "This Wonderful Life", a lunch and show for the entire family on Sunday December 18th at 3:00 pm. This play is based on the film "It's A Wonderful Life".     This is the 51st year of the West Cape May Christmas Parade, which is held on the first Saturday in December. This year the parade is on December 3rd, and starts at The West Cape May Firehouse on Broadway at 5:00 p.m. and travels south on Broadway onto Carpenter Lane in Cape May. This is a hometown parade showcasing local bands, floats, dance groups and fire trucks. This homespun, fabulous parade kicks off the holiday season, bringing the whole community together. The children are anxiously awaiting the arrival of Santa who is always the last to arrive.

    The Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony will be on Saturday November 19th at the Emlen Physick Estate from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Santa arrives at 7:00 p.m. to flip the switch for lighting of the tree of 1000 lights.     The Emlen Physick Estate is hosting "The Notorious Bride of Frankenstein" on Sat. Oct. 29th from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Did you know Frankenstein got married? You can meet his bride on Saturday and hear her story over afternoon tea at the Carriage House Café and Tea Room.
    It is also a great time in Cape May to take "The Ghost Tour." Cape May has been known to have many haunted homes inhabited by spirits of the past. Take the 30 minute trolley ride thru the dark haunted back streets of Cape May. You can board the trolley at The Emlen Physick Estate at1048 Washington Street or at the Washington Street Mall Booth.

    On August 4, 1892, the bodies of Andrew Borden and his wife Abby were discovered in their Fall River, MA home with multiple head wounds believed to be caused by a hatchet. The younger daughter, Lizzie, was arrested for the double murder. A trial and subsequent acquittal made media sensation. Lizzie and her sister remained in Fall River for the rest of their lives. They inherited their family's estate, gaining financial freedom.

    The 25th Annual Mid Atlantic Marlin Tournament is being held at the Canyon Club Marina at 900 Ocean Drive, Cape May starting on Sunday. August 21st to August 26th. This is one of the biggest sport fishing tournaments on the East coast. Purse is expected to be around $3,000,000. Wow!!
    The tournament attracts a field of world class crews and boats up and down the East coast and beyond. Hosted by the Canyon Club and South Jersey Marina in Cape May and Sunset Marina in Ocean City.

    The AJ Meerwald is a Delaware Bay Oyster Schooner launched in 1928. Construction is made of oak on oak. In 1942, under the War Powers Act, the schooner was used as a fireboat by the Coast Guard. She was later used as a clammer and retired in the late 1970's. She was restored with the help of the Schooner Project in 1989 and was placed on the Register of National Historic Places in 1995.
