If you're like me you have countless memories of time spent along the coast. When I was little it meant walking the boards in Ocean City or summer vacations in Atlantic City. In high school, it was trips to Rehoboth Beach in Delaware. As I got older it was trips to Ocean City every weekend to crash on a friends couch.

That love for the beach never stopped. My husband and I purchased our first home when our boys were 1 and 4. Ever since, we have planted our roots here at the Jersey Shore. We've always loved the ocean with the dream to always own a home on the water. We never could imagine us owning until 3 years ago, 2 weeks before Sandy hit our lovely beaches. Lucky for us water never came in the house. Since then, the house is already shaping up and we are looking forward to a great summer!

Attention to all who live in Ocean City. If you own a bike, make a point to stop by the library, police station or municipal building and pick up your lights for your bike. They are small and effective, but the best part is i'ts free. Bike safety is very important, especially in Ocean City, which is a big island with loads of people staying for the summer. Help the drivers see you so you stay safe.

Hop on your bike and head down to West Avenue for the best scones you ever had. Each day you will be greeted with three different types of scones. Everything is made fresh daily and it's one of my favorite places. It's a staple for me on my way to work. If you're an Organic nut like me, you will enjoy their organic coffees. Looking for something for lunch? They are open till 2:00 p.m. Be sure and ask for the homemade baguette and organic chicken salad.

Oh, you will think you died and went to heaven. Location is 214 West Ave! Tell them Lisa sent you.

Winter storm Jonas packed a punch for Cape May County. Ocean City was rather fortunate this time around. The beaches underwent replenishment this fall and are still in good shape despite the storm.

Ocean City will be hosting its annual restaurant week from June 8-13, 2015. You can check out the membership directory at the link below to find restaurants from beach to bay. There are fine places to dine in or take out.

Everyone has their favorites. Mine are Yanni's Café and Boyar's Market. Yanni's Cafe is located next to City Hall at 841 Asbury Avenue. If you are looking for breakfast, lunch or dinner they have it all. Boyar's Market at 1340 Asbury Avenue is the go-to place for great take out and they are also an old fashioned grocery store and deli.

If you are looking for Italian bread, Bennie's Bread and Italian Market is the place to go. They are located at 1159 Asbury Avenue. Come and enjoy!

The weather was the perfect setting for the kick off the the summer season. The crowds returned to Ocean City and the smell of suntan lotion was in the air. I don't ever remember a Memorial Day as crowded as this one. Parking was at a premium. Everyone I spoke with had a wonderful time. Looking forward to getting to the beach myself. If you are looking to rent a vacation home or purchase one please keep me in mind! Happy Summer!

What an amazing structure! The new 9th Street Bridge is one of the best decisions Ocean City has ever made. With the addition of the walking/bike path on the bridge, thousands of people each day get to enjoy the fantastic views that it provides. In addition to the path, the public fishing piers and the nighttime scenery provided by the LED colored lighting on the columns make this bridge something for all of us to be proud of

Living on the Bay or Lagoon in Ocean City is a lifestyle many would welcome. After a day at the #1 beaches in New Jersey, sit back and relax on your dock on the bay. Enjoy watersports, such as, paddle boarding, kayaking, wave running and boating. At night the party starts, especially on Night in Venice, which takes place the 3rd Saturday of July and features a themed boat parade. Most, if not all homes on the Bay, participate in Night in Venice and compete to win best decorated house and boat.
There are homes that are more reasonably priced in the Riviera that are not on the water but can catch of glimpse of the view. This area is perfect for year round living or as a second home location for you and your family.

  • An Ocean City Tradition from 1937, located on 9th and Central since 1940, is getting ready to reopen their doors. During Hurricane Sandy the spot received 12-14" of water. This December it was purchased by Bob and Martha Boyer, who painstakingly renovated with efforts to preserve murals and other landmark attributes. Now they are ready to open their doors on Apr 1, 2014. I can't wait to see their new menu and enjoy lunch at this classic spot.

If you find yourself driving down Wesley Avenue rubber necking at architectural wonders that line both the beach and bay side of the Avenue, you are driving through the Goldcoast. The Goldcoast section of Ocean City New Jersey is located between 18th Street and 29th Street on Wesley Avenue and boasts some of the most expensive duplexes and single family homes in Ocean City. It's a popular location for those looking for larger lots and less crowed beaches but you will pay the price. This exclusive area was home to Grace Kelly, American film actress and Princess of Monaco. Another famous resident that chose the Goldcoast to as home is Rich Gannon, former NFL quarterback who led the Oakland Raiders to the Super Bowl.

If you are interested in this location expect a range of $900,000 to $3.2 Million for a condo and $2.3 to $4.0 Million for a single family home.
  • Approval has finally come through for Marion Park's drainage system to receive long awaited improvements. Starting this spring work will begin in the neighborhood snuggled on the bay, just south of Roosevelt Blvd. The area has long been plagued with poor drainage and minor flooding, now soon to be a thing of the past.

"The two-phase project consists of replacing all 60-year-old undersized pipes, replacing drainage inlets, installing three pump stations and a concrete gutter for improved flow and roadway improvements including paving, milling and reconstructing the roadway base." - OC Sentinel

Work is set to begin this spring, with promises of maintaining road access to homeowners in the area. The project will focus on Bartram Lane, Westminster Lane, Somerset Lane, Pembroke Lane, Oxford Lane, Argyle Place and where Waterview Boulevard and Westminster Lane meet.
